asked the President of the Local Government Board, what was the sum paid in salaries to Poor Law officers in England and Wales for the last complete year; and the amount of such payments contributed from Imperial taxes?

Amount of Grant under Section 24 of the Local Government Act, 1888, for teachers in Poor Law schools:—
