HC Deb 24 March 1914 vol 60 c216W
Sir WILLIAM BYLES

asked the Secretary for the Colonies what percentage, if any, of the indentured Indian coolies in Jamaica, Trinidad, British Guiana, and Fiji, failed to receive last year the minimum wage of 5s. 2½d. in cash for five and a-half days' work, the days in question being measured not by tasks but by-hours?

Mr. HARCOURT

I will ask the. Governors of the four Colonies concerned whether they can furnish me with the information which my hon. Friend desires.
