§ Mr. ASTORasked the President of the Board of Education whether any provision is made for the medical inspection and medical treatment of children attending secondary schools; and, if so, from what source is payment provided?
Mr. PEASEMedical inspection is provided in some secondary schools and is paid for out of the funds available for the maintenance of the school. Where medical treatment is provided, it is generally, I think, provided at the cost of and by arrangement with the parent. The hon. Member will find some information on the subject in the Annual Report for 1912 of the chief medical officer of the Board.
