HC Deb 26 February 1914 vol 58 cc1966-7W
Mr. JAMES HOGGE

asked the Secretary of State for War whether during a recent dispute in Edinburgh between a firm of butchers and the Shop Assistants' Union, the Scottish Society for the Employment of ex-Soldiers supplied any men to the firm; and whether this society receives any Grant from Government funds?

Colonel SEELY

I understand that the society named supplied some men to the firm in question, but that, when this was done, it was not known that there was a trade dispute in progress. The society received a Grant of £10 last year.
