§ Mr. JOHN O'CONNORasked the Chief Secretary whether he is aware that in consequence of recent rain-storms there has been a great overflow of the River Barrow, and that there is a sheet of water stretching over the countryside and flooding the lands from Monastereven to Athy; and whether he will this Session press forward the Barrow Drainage Bill?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe Board of Works have no information as to floods on the River Barrow beyond that appearing in the public Press. I am in communication with local authorities in the matter, and cannot say, as at present advised, that legislation on the subject this Session is possible.
