HC Deb 26 February 1914 vol 58 c1968W
Captain JESSEL

asked the Home Secretary if he will explain the reason for the delay in paying the extra remuneration to the members of the Metropolitan police Force employed on extra duty in connection with work before Christmas at the Mount Pleasant Post Office; and if he will take steps to prevent such delay in the future?

Mr. McKENNA

I understand that this account was paid on the 18th instant. The collection and examination of accounts of this nature must take a considerable amount of time, but the Commissioner of Police has given directions which will, he hopes, reduce this to a minimum.
