§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELVital statistics for British India have not been included hitherto in Table XXXVII. of the Registrar-General's Annual Report because the system of registration there is still incomplete, and the Returns published by the Indian Government are confessedly not such as can be fairly compared with those for other countries with a fully established system of vital registration. The table is, however, periodically revised, and the question of the inclusion of British India will be duly considered.
