§ Dr. MACNAMARAThe arrangement indicated was a purely temporary one for meeting really urgent cases, and was only intended to assist the wives to tide over the period between the date of mobilisation and the end of the present month, when the first instalment of allotments declared becomes payable. It is hoped that it will be found that the number of cases in which men of the Royal Naval Reserve have hot made provision for their wives, either by means of a regular allotment of a part of their pay or by direct remittance, are very few.
