asked the Postmaster-General how much he proposes to spend during the current financial year on the extension, exclusive of replacement of plant, of the London telephone system and in the rest of the country, respectively, on exchange equipment, on subscribers' station equipment, on junction wire cables between exchanges, on subscribers' cables and distributing cables and wires, respectively?

It is estimated that the extension of the telephone system will involve the expenditure during the current financial year of approximately the following amounts:—
