§ Mr. HORNERasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland (1) whether it is the intention of the Intermediate Education (Ireland) Bill to provide that the full annual Grant of £40,000 is to be divided amongst those intermediate schools only which separately comply with the conditions of registration of school teachers under the Act; (2) whether, in framing the rules for the purpose of prescribing the manner in which the teachers' salaries Grant under the Intermediate Education (Ireland) Act, 1914, is to be applied, he will have it made 939W clear that a school which has complied with the conditions of registration of school teachers under the Act shall not be deprived of its proper share of this Grant by reason of other intermediate schools failing to fulfil those conditions?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe Grant referred to in the Bill as the Teachers' Salaries Grant is to be administered by the Intermediate Education Board in accordance with rules made by the Lord Lieutenant and approved by the Treasury. As stated in reply to the hon. Member for East Mayo on the 8th instant, it is intended to lay a draft of the proposed scheme for the distribution of the Grant on the Table of the House this week, which will give the hon. Member full information on the subject.
