HC Deb 02 April 1914 vol 60 c1377W
Mr. JOYNSON-HICKS

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India what projects there are before the Government of India in regard to industrial, railway, water, dock, or afforestation matters; and how many of these are unable to be proceeded with for lack of funds?

Mr. C. ROBERTS

It is impossible to give a categorical answer to the question as put, as I am not aware that a list of the kind is kept by the Government of India, and many projects of the class mentioned are within the province of local bodies or private enterprise rather than of the Government of India. If the hon. Member will state his question in a rather more precise form I shall be glad to answer it as far as possible.
