§ Mr. GINNELLasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland, in respect of each county in Ireland, the net land purchase loss sustained in the last ten years by deductions, not subsequently made good, from the annual Grants for relief of local rates in respect of arrears of land purchase annuities, not including cases of arrear in which the first default occurred within the last six months?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe following table shows the net deductions from, or additions to, Grants in aid of local rates during the ten years ending 31st March, 1914, in respect of arrears of land purchase annuities under the Purchase of Land (Ireland) Act, 1891, and the Irish Land Acts, 1903 and 1909:—
1370W It would be quite impracticable to indicate the cases of arrear in which the first default occurred within the last six months. To do so would involve, in each case now in default, an examination of the accounts since the advance was made, which in some cases would extend back for upwards of twenty years.
