asked the President of the Local Government Board whether it is proposed to publish as heretofore a volume of Census statistics for each county; and, if so, when the issue of this series will commence?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

A series of volumes of Census statistics for counties is now in course of preparation; some of the smaller counties will be grouped with adjoining counties. It is feared that the publication of this series cannot commence before July.

asked the President of the Local Government Board in which of the counties of England and Wales the greatest increase in population took place between 1901 and 1911; what was the proportion of such increase; in what counties the greatest decrease took place; and what was the proportion of such decrease?

The greatest proportional increase of population between 1901 and 1911 was in the administrative county of Middlesex, and the greatest proportional decrease in the administrative county of Merioneth. In six counties the proportional increase exceeded 20 per cent., as follows:—
