Mr. McKINNON WOODAccording to the latest available figures, the number of the sires referred to in the question is as follows: Stallions, owned 17, subsidised, 90; bulls, owned 245, subsidised, 107; boars, owned none, subsidised, 31; rams, owned 474, subsidised 77. The estimated annual cost of the subsidised sires is as follows: Stallions, £1,500; bulls, £1,575; boars, £155; rams, £112. As none of the live stock schemes inaugurated by the Board have yet been completed, only the estimated annual cost of the subsidised sires can be given, and no figures are yet available as to the annual cost of sires owned by the Board.
