asked the Secretary to the Treasury whether he will furnish a statement of the grants of money made to Wales and Monmouthshire by the Road Board similar to the statement made on 6th March in regard to Irish counties?

Mr. MASTERMAN

The aggregate amount of the Grant so far indicated to highway authorities in Wales and Monmouthshire is £90,124. Grants amounting to £53,918 have been formally made, and the allocation of the balance of £36,206 is now under consideration and discussion. Loans amounting to £16,616 have been made and formally accepted, namely, £4,000 to Carmarthen, £10,000 to Flint, £1,793 to Brecon, £673 to the Hay Rural District Council (Breconshire), and £150 to the Amlwch Urban District Council (Anglesey).
