Mr. POINTERasked the Postmaster-General whether his attention has been called to the case of an officer being transferred to the Eastern District office where his father is a supervising officer; and whether, in view of the rule and practice of the Post Office to prevent favouritism, he will see that the regulations are enforced?
§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELThe officer referred to will not be employed under the supervision of his father, who is engaged in a different branch of the Eastern District office; and the transfer was, therefore, agreed to, subject to the usual condition that if the relationship should at any time prove detrimental to the interests of the service, the son will be transferred to another office. I have decided, however, that when a suitable opportunity arises, it would be better for him to be transferred to another office.
