§ Mr. BIRRELLThe total amount payable to the County Council of Longford in the financial year 1912–13, in respect of the maintenance of lunatics in Mullingar Asylum was £2,350 6s. 4d., and of this amount only £2,109 8s. 8d. was paid. The abatement was made under the provisions of Section 58 (5) of the Local Government (Ireland) Act, 1898, the income of the local taxation account being insufficient to meet the sums payable thereout.
