Dr. O'NEILLasked the Chief Secretary if he is aware that the Armagh old age pension sub-committee granted a pension of 5s. per week to Hugh Lennon, of Clady-beg, county Armagh; and if he can say why the said pension was disallowed on appeal by the pension officer of the district?
§ Mr. BIRRELLThe pension committee granted a pension of 5s. a week to Hugh Lennon, as stated, but on appeal to the Local Government Board by the pension officer the Board decided that the claimant was not entitled to any pension on the grounds that he was unable to prove that he had reached the statutory age.
