§ Mr. ARTHUR STANLEYasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that, in consequence of the strike of agricultural labourers in South-West Lancashire, a number of licensed houses were closed by order of the magistrates in the Ormskirk police division from 2 p.m. for the remainder of the day for about a fortnight and also all day Sunday; and whether he will make some concession to the licence-holders for the loss of trade due to the compulsory closing of these houses?
§ Mr. LLOYD GEORGEI have no official information as to the facts stated in the first part of the question. As regards the second part, I fear I am unable to adopt the hon. Member's suggestion.
