asked how many prosecutions have been brought against persons for failure to comply with the provisions of Part I. of the National Insurance Act in Scotland; how many succeeded; and the net cost of such prosecutions?

The number of prosecutions brought in Scotland up to the present time is twelve. A conviction has been obtained in each case, but in three cases an appeal lodged by the defendant is stillsub judice. The present amount of the cost to the Commission is £313 12s. 7d.
