§ Mr. PRETYMANasked the Secretary to the Treasury if he will explain why it is that in the case of a chemist practising on the panels of Essex and Middlesex no payment has yet been made to him for accounts rendered over two months ago to the insurance committees of these counties for work done under the National Insurance Act; and whether the delay is general or limited to these counties only?
2341W
§ Mr. MASTERMANThe Regulations which are incorporated in the Agreements entered into by the chemists provide for periodical advances, although a final settlement can only be made at the end of the medical year. Advances have already been made by the Essex and Middlesex Insurance Committees on accounts rendered up to the end of last quarter, and I am not aware of any case in which payments have not been made by insurance committees when accounts have been rendered.
