§ Mr. WATTasked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether his attention has been called to a meeting of the Indian students of Glasgow University, at which over 90 per cent, of the enrolled Indian students were present, where a resolution was unanimously carried protesting against the institution of a caretaker and adviser of Indian students being set up in that university; and, if so, will he see his way not to persist in the appointment of such?
§ Mr. H. BAKERThe Secretary of State has seen in the Press a report of the meeting referred to. From inquiries that have been made the Secretary of State is satisfied that the appointment of a local adviser for Indian students at Glasgow is desirable, and will be welcomed by the authorities of the university.
