HC Deb 12 February 1913 vol 48 cc991-2W
Mr. JESSE COLLINGS

asked the President of the Board of Agriculture how many acres of agricultural land the Commissioners of Woods and Forests have under their management; whether the whole of such land is let; how many holdings are above 500 acres; how many under 50 acres; how many between 50 and 100 acres; and whether he can state approximately the average rent per acre of the lands let?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

The detailed information for which the right hon. Gentleman asks cannot be supplied in full without the expenditure of much time and labour, and I hope that the particulars given in the Report of the Commissioners of Woods (1912) at page 32et seq. will be sufficient for his purpose. The whole of the agricultural land in charge of the Commissioners is let, except a farm at Osborne, in the Isle of Wight, which is managed and cultivated by the Department itself.
