§ Mr. FIELDasked the President of the Board of Agriculture whether he is aware that the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board have agreed to grant a rebate to a certain firm or combination who shall import Irish cattle; and whether he proposes to take steps to secure equal treatment for all importers of Irish livestock?
§ Mr. RUNCIMANThe charge approved by the Board for the landing and detention of cattle at Birkenhead is one shilling per head. If a rebate is granted to a particular firm or combination, as to which the Board have received no information, the Board have no power to intervene.
