HC Deb 14 August 1913 vol 56 cc2691-2W
Mr. DORIS

asked the Postmaster-General whether he has inquired into the application of the people of Dooega, Achill, county Mayo, to have a sub-post office established in their district, and, if so, with what result; whether he is aware that 134 families reside within the district which would be served by such an office, that 25 old age pensioners have to walk five miles to receive their pensions, and that recipients of postal orders amounting to £1,000 annually are similarly inconvenienced by the present postal arrangements; and will he, in the circumstances, have a sub-office established in Dooega?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

I am having inquiry made in the matter, and I will communicate with the hon. Member.
