§ Mr. ACLAND ALLENasked the Prime Minister the reasons for the delay in appointing an Advisory Committee to deal with the appointment of magistrates in Dumbartonshire; and if he can state when the Committee will be appointed?
§ The PRIME MINISTERThe Lord Chancellor hopes to appoint the Advisory Committee for Dumbartonshire within a very few days. A number of these Advisory Committees throughout England, Scotland, and Wales is about 360, and the difficulty involved in appointing so large a number has unfortunately in a few instances led to inevitable delay.
