§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELThe situation of girl probationer in provincial post offices is filled, as a rule, by the selection of candidates whose names have been noted on a list of suitable applicants kept by the local postmaster or telephone district manager. It is not the practice to give public notice of the occurrence of vacancies for these situations.
