HC Deb 21 April 1913 vol 52 c56W
Mr. BOYTON

asked the Home Secretary whether he is aware that Plymouth has not yet appointed an inspector under the Shops Act, and that traders are following their own desires, whilst in Nottingham the Act is strictly enforced, one trader having already paid three fines of £10 each; and whether he proposes to take any action in the matter?

Mr. McKENNA

Yes, Sir, the matter has been receiving the attention of the Department, and I am glad to be able to say that the Town Council of Plymouth have now given an undertaking that they will take immediate steps to comply with the statutory duty placed upon them by Section 13 of the Act.
