§ Mr. GLAZEBROOKasked the Secretary for the Colonies whether his attention has been called to a fight between the Aidegalla and certain of the Habr Awal subtribes at Hargeisa, on the 12th December last, in which about forty men were killed; and, if so, whether he has taken any steps to prevent such incidents in the Somaliland Protectorate in future?
Mr. HARCOURTI assume that the hon. Member is referring to the raid made on the Habr Awal on the 7th December by a combination of the Habr Yunis, Kassin Ishaak, and Habr Gerhajis. The offenders were dealt with immediately and effectively by the newly raised Camel Corps, which will, I trust, be able to deal effectively with any future occurrences of the same kind.
