HC Deb 09 April 1913 vol 51 c1201W
Mr. GLAZEBROOK

asked the Secretary for the Colonies whether his attention has been called to a fight between the Aidegalla and certain of the Habr Awal subtribes at Hargeisa, on the 12th December last, in which about forty men were killed; and, if so, whether he has taken any steps to prevent such incidents in the Somaliland Protectorate in future?

Mr. HARCOURT

I assume that the hon. Member is referring to the raid made on the Habr Awal on the 7th December by a combination of the Habr Yunis, Kassin Ishaak, and Habr Gerhajis. The offenders were dealt with immediately and effectively by the newly raised Camel Corps, which will, I trust, be able to deal effectively with any future occurrences of the same kind.
