§ Mr. ROBERT THOMPSONasked the Postmaster-General whether he is aware that a woman substitute telegraphist employed in the Belfast post office became ill recently as the result of hurrying up a long staircase to the instrument room; and, seeing that the Select Committee on Post Office Wages recommended in 1907 the provision of lifts for the use of the staff, who require to ascend to the upper floors, will he say what has been done in Belfast to meet this recommendation; and is he aware that a passenger-lift, erected in a new portion of the buildings, is never available for the use of the staff in consequence of the attendant being employed elsewhere?
