asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the Departmental Committee appointed to formulate a scheme of pensions for English and Welsh secondary and technical teachers has yet reported to the Treasury; and, if so, when will the details of the scheme be available?

The Chancellor of the Exchequer has asked me to answer this question. The Departmental Committee appointed by me last year in connection with the matters referred to in the question has not yet reported.
