HC Deb 01 April 1913 vol 51 c230W
Mr. O'SHEE

asked the Postmaster-General whether the telephone line which now links up Youghal with Ardmore, Clashmore, and Villierstown, county Waterford, will be extended so as to serve the needs of the people of the chief towns of West Waterford, namely, Dungarvan, Lismore, Cappoquin, and Tallow; whether this extension will be expedited; and how soon it is likely to be completed to one or more of these towns?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

An extension of telephone facilities to Dungarvan from Waterford has been authorised, as this method of serving the place was considered preferable to an extension of the line at present serving Youghal. I am unable to give an approximate date for the completion of the work, but I will see that it is expedited as much as possible. I will make inquiry as to the practicability of providing telephone facilities at Lismore, Cappoquin, and Tallow, and will write to the hon. Member.
