§ Mr. FRANCIS MEEHANasked the Chief Secretary whether he is aware that John M'Laughlin, of Glenfarne, county Leitrim, is detained in Sligo district asylum as a lunatic, not withstanding the fact that a large number of his friends petitioned for his release and the resident medical superintendent certified him sane; and whether he will order his release?
§ Mr. BIRRELLA petition has been received asking for the release of Mr. John M'Laughlin, who is at present an inmate of the Sligo District Lunatic Asylum. The resident medical superintendent of the asylum has not certified him to be sane, and in view of his present condition the question of his discharge cannot at present be taken into consideration.
