HC Deb 28 October 1912 vol 43 cc66-7W
Mr. REDDY

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India whether, with regard to the two professorial appointments at the Medical College, Bombay, and which are the subject of much controversy in the medical profession in India, he will inform the House whether one of these appointments is reserved for the military medical service and that the claims for equality of treatment by Indian medical men have been set aside; whether the emoluments and restrictions as regards private practice are the same in each case; if not, why preferential treatment is reserved to one of the appointments; and whether he will lay the correspondence with reference to these appointments upon the Table?

Mr. H. BAKER

It has not yet been decided whether the two posts in question should be created, or, in the event of their creation, in what way or under what conditions they should be filled. There are no Papers which could at present be conveniently laid.
