HC Deb 22 October 1912 vol 42 c1960W
Mr. WHELER

asked the Postmaster-General whether there is any direct telephonic communication between the Coastguard station at Leysdown, on the Isle of Sheppey, and Sheerness; and, if not, whether he has been requested to establish direct communication by telephone between these two places?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

I have recently given instructions for a telephonic connection to be provided between Leys-down Coastguard station and Sheerness for use in summoning aid in the event of shipwreck or other casualty. The work is in hand.
