§ Mr. COURTHOPEasked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether he is aware that the rents of a number of cottages at Bexhill, being the property of the Admiralty and occupied by coastguards, have been 1951W considerably increased at short notice; and whether, in view of the fact that these coastguards have all planted their gardens and made due provision for the winter's supply of vegetables, and that loss and hardship must be inflicted by having to move to cheaper quarters, he will allow these coastguards to continue their present tenancies at the former rents?
Mr. LAMBERTThe hon. Member appears to be under a misapprehension, as the coastguard men at Bexhill are provided with free quarters.
