HC Deb 21 October 1912 vol 42 cc1744-5W
Mr. CHARLES BATHURST

asked the Home Secretary how many horse inspectors under the Mines Act are being appointed in South Wales; whether these appointments have yet been made; and, if so, what are the names of the persons appointed, and how many, and which of them can speak Welsh?

Mr. McKENNA

I would refer the hon. Member to the answer which I gave in the House on this subject on the 6th August last. No appointments have yet been made, as the Board for Mining Examinations have not yet completed the consideration of the numerous applications sent in. I expect to receive their recommendations shortly. One of the six inspectors to be appointed will be allotted to South Wales.
