HC Deb 21 October 1912 vol 42 c1735W
Mr. FFRENCH

asked the Vice-President of the Department of Agriculture (Ireland) whether, seeing that Irish farmers suffer loss by the exportation of store cattle, he will consider the possibility of encouraging the Irish dead-meat trade on a large scale and establishing it on a firm basis?

Mr. T. W. RUSSELL

The Department have for a considerable time given attention to the question of the possibility of extending the Irish dead-meat trade with Great Britain, and are at present in communication with various centres in Ireland which have expressed a desire to establish such an industry.
