HC Deb 21 October 1912 vol 42 c1740W
Mr. AUGUSTINE ROCHE

asked the Secretary of State for War whether, in view of the losses which Irish farmers are sustaining in consequence of the restrictions upon the export of cattle, he would consider the necessity of alleviating the situation to some extent by withdrawing the Regulations regarding the supply of meat to the troops stationed in Ireland, under which it is made compulsory to issue frozen meat on three days of the week?

Colonel SEELY

The hon. Gentleman's proposal would involve considerable extra cost, and I cannot, therefore, undertake to sanction this additional charge upon Army funds.
