HC Deb 16 October 1912 vol 42 c1247W
Captain JESSEL

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether, in view of the problems which have arisen in connection with London traffic, the Government will bring in a Bill to set up a traffic board, in accordance with the recommendations of the Report of the Royal Commission of 1905, which recommended that, among other things, such traffic board should prepare schemes, investigate certain problems, and make bylaws and regulations for the provision of better locomotion?

Mr. McKENNA

I will consult my colleagues at the Board of Trade and the Local Government Board in this matter, but I do not at present see much prospect of Parliament having time to discuss legislation on this subject.
