HC Deb 09 October 1912 vol 42 c361W
Sir WILLIAM BULL

asked the President of the Local Government Board whether, in view of the development of fast motor traffic and its effect on locomotion in the streets generally, he will recommend the appointment of another Royal Commission on the lines of that which reported in 1905–6, to consider the whole question?

Mr. BURNS

The development of motor traffic and its effect, especially in London, on locomotion in the streets is being carefully watched by my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary and myself, but I do not think any useful purpose would be served by the appointment of another Royal Commission at the present time.
