§ Mr. WATTasked the Lord Advocate whether it is intended to fill the office of procurator-fiscal of Midlothian by the advancement of one holding similar office in a less important and lower salaried district; and, if so, is it the intention of his Department to adopt this system of promotion of procurators-fiscal throughout the whole of Scotland?
§ Mr. UREThe office of procurator-fiscal of Midlothian has been filled by the promotion of the procurator-fiscal of Fife at Cupar. The answer to the latter part of the question, so far as I am concerned, is in the affirmative.
