§ Mr. NANNETTIasked the Postmaster-General if any official of the Irish Post Office is empowered to make contracts and, if so, to what amounts; and will he now authorise the secretary, Dublin, or some other official of the Irish Post Office, to make store contracts for Irish requirements up to certain specified limits?
§ Mr. HERBERT SAMUELI assume that the hon. Member refers solely to contracts for stores—not for works or services. Contracts for stores exceeding £5 in amount and required for use in any part of the United Kingdom are made in London; for amounts below the contracts are made locally. I do not propose to alter this arrangement.
