HC Deb 21 May 1912 vol 38 c1893W
Mr. NANNETTI

asked the Postmaster-General if any official of the Irish Post Office is empowered to make contracts and, if so, to what amounts; and will he now authorise the secretary, Dublin, or some other official of the Irish Post Office, to make store contracts for Irish requirements up to certain specified limits?

Mr. HERBERT SAMUEL

I assume that the hon. Member refers solely to contracts for stores—not for works or services. Contracts for stores exceeding £5 in amount and required for use in any part of the United Kingdom are made in London; for amounts below the contracts are made locally. I do not propose to alter this arrangement.
