HC Deb 21 May 1912 vol 38 c1872W
Mr. LUNDON

asked the Secretary to the Treasury whether he is aware that a number of senior assistant clerks, having qualified by service and merit for the award of a £10 increment after five years' service at the maximum of £150, have been recommended therefor to the Treasury by heads of Departments under Section 5 of the Treasury letter of 22nd December, 1908, which states; that the possible maximum of the class is thus £170 a year, without having received such addition, although in some instances several months have elapsed since the applications were made; and, if so, whet her, having regard to the increased cost of living in the last few years, he will take steps to see that early effect is given to such recommendations as from the date when the increments accrued?

Mr. MASTERMAN

I would refer the hon. Member to my answer to the hon. Member for Blackburn on the 25th April.
