HC Deb 21 May 1912 vol 38 cc1895-6W
Mr. BARNES

asked the Lord Advocate if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there have been inquiries made into the affairs of the City of Glasgow Friendly Society on five separate occasions and irregularities reported four times; and if, in view of these facts, he will undertake to direct a prosecution at the public expense?

Mr. McKINNON WOOD (for the Lord Advocate)

I beg to refer the hon. Member to the answer which I gave to him on 2nd November, 1911. Since that date my attention has not been drawn to the affairs of the Society; but I shall make inquiry into the matters referred to in the question.
