§ Mr. GEORGE ROBERTSasked the Under-Secretary of State for War whether he is aware that the girls employed in the lifting and labelling of tinned food by the proprietors of Oxo, contractors to the War Office, are only paid a wage of 12s. per week of fifty-two hours; and whether he will make inquiries as to whether this rate of wage is consonant with the Fair-Wages Clause?
§ Colonel SEELYThere is no information on the subject in the War Office, and no complaint has been received. If the hon. Gentleman will furnish me with details of any specific cause for complaint of infringement of the Fair-Wages Clause the matter shall be inquired into.
