§ Mr. JOYNSON-HICKSasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention had been called to the claim of the Eastern Shipping Company, of Penang, that the conditions imposed by the late Governor, Sir John Anderson, G.C.M.G., on the grant of a licence to cut the foreshore to give access to their new dock are wholly illegal and void; and, if so, whether he will take steps to revoke such conditions?
1069W
Mr. HARCOURTI am aware of the claim made by the company, but I am not prepared to admit the correctness of their views. The conditions imposed by the late Governor have my entire approval.
