HC Deb 11 March 1912 vol 35 c923W
Mr. JOHN WARD

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty whether his attention has been drawn to the landing at Rosyth of a party of sailors from one of His Majesty's ships; whether he can say upon whose request the landing was made; and if it was as a precaution against a possible strike of navvies for better wages and working conditions than those recognised as fair by his Department?

Mr. CHURCHILL

The Admiralty officials at Rosyth called attention to the possibility of a strike affecting Admiralty interests, and the senior officer thought it wise to send a small guard to the wireless station for a few days.
