asked the Chief Secretary how many men candidates applied to be examined at Easter, 1911, for a two years' course of training to Marlborough Street Training College; College; how many of these passed the examination; how many of these successful candidates were called to training last September[...] what was the total number of men candidates called to commence a two years' course of training by the Marlborough Street Training College last September; will he give the number of failures among first and second year students in Marlborough Street, St. Patrick's, Church of Ireland, and De La Salle Training Colleges, respectively, last July; what percentage of the students who finished in July, 1911, from the respective colleges are now occupied in teaching in national schools in Ireland; will he state from what source the money, distributed by the Commissioners of National Education last October as £10 prizes to students, who had completed their training course, was obtained; on what principle were the prizes allocated; and how many students from each of the individual training colleges in Ireland received such prizes?

Eighty-nine men applicants for the Marlborough Street Training College attended at the King's Scholarship examination of 1911. Seventy-five of these passed the examination, and sixty-six were admitted to the College for the session commencing in September last. The total number of men admitted to the college for the 1911–13 course is sixty-nine. The number of failures amongst first and second year students at the last July examinations in the Training Colleges referred to is as follows:—

The Commissioners of National Education, from the information in their possession, are not in a position to say what percentage of the students who finished in July, 1911, are now occupied in teaching. With regard to the remaining paragraphs of the question I would refer the hon. Member to my reply to his similar question on 14th December last.
