HC Deb 04 March 1912 vol 35 cc164-5W
Mr. O'DONNELL

asked whether the application of Edmund and Simon Flaherty, Fenit, Tralee, evicted tenants on the estate of Mr. J. C. D. Hurley, has been inquired into; and, if so, what is the result?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners cannot find that they have received any application from Edmond Flaherty. They received an application from Simon Flaherty for reinstatement in a holding formerly occupied by his father on the Hurley Estate, county Kerry, and after inquiry and consideration decided to take no action in the matter.

Mr. O'DOWD

asked what decision the Estates Commissioners have come to in regard to the case of Mark Leonard, of Gurteen, Ballymote, county Sligo, whose father was evicted some years ago. from an extensive farm in Creekresane, Banada, Tubbercurry, county Sligo, because of the non-payment of one year's rack-rent; whether Mr. Leonard claims his father's farm or else one situated elsewhere; and, if so, whether, in view of the eligibility of the man, his claim will be considered by the Commissioners or the Congested Districts Board?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners received an application from Mark Leonard for reinstatement in a holding formerly occupied by his father on the French Estate, County Sligo, and after inquiry and consideration decided to take no action in. the matter.

Mr. O'SHEE

asked the Chief Secretary what steps are being taken by the Estates Commissioners to deal with the claims of the following evicted tenants in North-East Cork, namely, J. Donaldson, Kilworth; P. Myles, Kilworth; P. Lyons, Coolmohan, Kilworth; Carey Joyce, Cornohill, Kilworth; Daniel Connors, Ballyhooly, Fermoy; Michael Regan, Ballynoe, Kildorrery; Patrick Hannan, Ballyshona; Mrs. Margaret Jones, Mallow; Thomas O'Keeffe, Curraglass; Michael Keeffe, Blackpool; John J. Sheehy, Pike Farm, Fermoy; and Mrs. Helena Cunningham Kilmacow, Curraglass?

Mr. BIRRELL

The Estates Commissioners have noted the names of J. Donaldson, P. Lyons, and Michael Regan for consideration in the allotment of un-tenanted land as acquired. They have decided to take no action on the applications of P. Myles, D. Connors, P. Hannan, T. O'Keeffe, J. J Sheehy, Michael Keeffe, and Mrs. Cunningham. Carey Joyce's application will be further considered if the property on which his former holding is situate comes before the Commissioners to deal with under the Land Purchase Acts. No application appears to have been lodged by Mrs. Jones.
